187'+3 <br />~4~ Section 1313, Fire Alarms, is hereby amended by <br />adding an additional paragraph at the end of the second para- <br />graph to read: <br />The building owner or his designee shall inspect <br />and service each detector every six months. A record <br />shall be maintained for each detector listing the date <br />installed, dates inspected, and dates serviced, if any. <br />This record shall be available for inspection by the <br />fire marshal. <br />~5~ Subsection ~345~d}, Snow.Laads, is hereby amended <br />to read: <br />~d}. Snow loads. The minimum snow load in the city <br />for a structure shall be ~0 pounds per square foot at <br />any ground elevation less than 800~feet above sea level <br />and 25 pounds per square foot for any ground elevation <br />more than 804 feet above sea level. Snow loads full or <br />unbalanced shall be considered in place of other re- <br />quired.loads..when such snow Loads... are greater ..anal .will <br />require larger members or connections. Potential accu- <br />mulations of snow at valleys, parapets., roof structures, <br />and offsets of roofs of uneven configurations shall be <br />considered in accordance with commentary X27 Snow <br />Loads of the National Building Code of Canada, 1974. <br />~ ~ ~ Subsection 3 801 ~_d~, Standards , is hereby amended by <br />deleting the words "UBC Standards Nos. 38-1, 35-2, and 38-3"~in- <br />cluding the same wording as appears in exception number one and <br />replacing in both locations the words "Standard for the Installa- <br />tion of Sprinkler Systems, NFPA 13, 197H edition, as adopted <br />and copyrighted by the National Fire Protection Association." <br />~7~ Section 3802~b~, Where Required, is hereby amended <br />by adding subparts E. and F, to Subdivision 1. entitled, All <br />occupancies, except Group R, Division 3, Group N~, to read: <br />E. Tn every existing or new building or struc- <br />ture which has. no access to a public street except by <br />way of a pedestrian mall or to which access by fire- <br />fighting equipment is restricted by one or more struc- <br />tures or amenities inthe public street or right-af-way, <br />the requirements to apply one year after construction <br />of the building or the making of a restriction, which- <br />ever time is the latter; provided, however, the area <br />and height increases specified in Section 506~c~ and <br />507 shall be permitted. <br />F. In every existing ar new building or struc- <br />ture five. or more stories or greater than 45 feet in <br />height; provided, however, the respective increases <br />for area and height specified in Section 506 ~c~ and <br />547 shall be permitted and the allowances for reduc- <br />tion from the requirements of this code contained in <br />Section 1847 ~m~ 1. ,.anal 2, shall be allowed. For pur- <br />poses of this section, the number of stories or heights <br />of the structure shall be measured from the lowest <br />level of fire department vehicle access. <br />ordinance - 6 <br />
