Present Cot~oi~en Johnson, Parks, ~.{cI,~phey, Bog~e, <br />Deverea~x, Beytien and Goodpasture; absent Bell.. <br /> <br /> Petition for street .lit~t at 18th and ~{il_~ette Streets was referred <br />to the 5'i~e & Wate~ Cpm~ittee. <br /> <br /> Repo~t of the City Attorney {hat the suit in the Circuit Co~t of <br /> <br />Lulu E~i~ardt vs Erma Ba~s, City of A~gene, et s,l., does not affect tt~e City of <br />Ektgene and advising no appearance in the action was read and placed' on file. <br /> <br /> A eo~unieation from the B~gene Water Board to the Council was presented <br /> <br />as follows: <br /> <br />The Honorable ~.{~yor and Co~.on Council, <br /> <br /> City of Eugene, <br /> <br />Gentlemen: <br /> <br />EX, eno, Ore.gon, l~'ebru~ry 15, 1915. <br /> <br />ReferriI~g to the L,.atter of permits and cash deposit in connection <br /> <br />with the cutting of street pavements occasioned by inst,~ll~tion, repairs, <br />maintenance, etc. of ~he water mains: <br /> <br /> In order to. get this matter down to a definite basis the Water <br />Board will be responsible for and &a~arantee pavement repairing expense for <br />whatever pavements the '~ater Board has caused to be cut regardless of the <br />fact that such cutting is for th~ benefit of abutting property or not. <br /> <br /> 'Phis has reference to pavements cut d%tring the past season as well <br />as any that might be necessary in the futu'~e. <br /> <br /> Please ~dvise whether or not tttis procedure will be satisfactory and <br />if so will eliminate unsatisfactory condition of one department of the City <br />putting up cash bonds to another department. <br /> <br /> Please advise. <br /> <br /> Respectfully,. <br /> <br /> Eugene V~ater Board, <br /> <br /> ~ ~ By C. ~.
