Present Councilmen Parks, Polders, Paterson, Devereaux, ~osher, <br />Goodpasture a~ Quimby; absent Koppe. <br /> <br /> Petition for installation of. two street lights on south side of <br />ThiPteenth Avenue between Kincatd Street and Johnson Hall, and one light at the <br />corner of Fotu~teenth and University Streets or rear of ~ary Spiller Hall was <br />read and referred to the 5'ire & W~ter Com~ittee, with power to act. <br /> <br /> The request of the Band Co~mission for the use of a room in the new <br />city l{ali for band purposes was referred to the F'inanee Conu~ittee to confer <br />with the Band Commission. <br /> <br /> The Eugene Water Board requested a· conference with the Council on <br /> <br />equitable rate fo~~ public use of water. The m~tter was referred to the <br /> <br />~inanee Committee to fix the time later. .~' <br /> <br /> Request of George etcher for ~ebate of ~taxes on property wrongly in- <br />cluded ~in School District #~ was referred to the Finance Conu~ittee. <br /> <br /> An invitation from the National Rivers & Harbors Congress and a request <br />that delegates be appointed by the Nayor was read, and the l~{ayor am~ouneed that <br />he is ready to make any desired appointments should any one care to attend this <br />conference. <br /> <br /> Report of the Advisory !~atron of the Dep~'rtment of Public Safety was <br /> referred to the Police Conu~ittee. <br /> <br /> Report of the Inspector of Buildings for the month of October was <br /> <br /> ~ead and filed. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance to amend Section 1 of 0rdin~noe No. 1566, relating to <br /> <br /> the construction of cement sidewmlks was read the second and third readings and <br /> placed on its final passage. Councilmen voting aye Parks and Devere~ux, nay <br /> Polders, Peterson, Mosher, Goodpasture ~nd Quimby. The Ordinance was de- <br /> clared lost. <br /> <br /> Report of the Street Con~mittee recommending that the petition for <br />ornamental street lighting system on Ninth Avenue from Olive to Pearl Streets <br />be granted was on motion ~dopted. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance providing for the 'construction ~nd~ erection of an ornamen- <br /> tal street lighting system on both sides of Ninth Avenue between Olive and <br /> Pearl Streets in the 0ity of hktgene, and to assess the cost thereof against <br /> <br /> <br />
