NOVE~/BER 8, 1915. Council chambers, Eugene, Oregon, November 8, 1915. CouneiI met in regular monthly session, and was called to order by ~{ayor Bell. Present Councilmen Parks, Polders, Paterson, Devereaux, ~osher, Goodpasture a~ Quimby; absent Koppe. Petition for installation of. two street lights on south side of ThiPteenth Avenue between Kincatd Street and Johnson Hall, and one light at the corner of Fotu~teenth and University Streets or rear of ~ary Spiller Hall was read and referred to the 5'ire & W~ter Com~ittee, with power to act. The request of the Band Co~mission for the use of a room in the new city l{ali for band purposes was referred to the F'inanee Conu~ittee to confer with the Band Commission. The Eugene Water Board requested a· conference with the Council on equitable rate fo~~ public use of water. The m~tter was referred to the ~inanee Committee to fix the time later. .~' Request of George etcher for ~ebate of ~taxes on property wrongly in- cluded ~in School District #~ was referred to the Finance Conu~ittee. An invitation from the National Rivers & Harbors Congress and a request that delegates be appointed by the Nayor was read, and the l~{ayor am~ouneed that he is ready to make any desired appointments should any one care to attend this conference. Report of the Advisory !~atron of the Dep~'rtment of Public Safety was referred to the Police Conu~ittee. Report of the Inspector of Buildings for the month of October was ~ead and filed. An Ordinance to amend Section 1 of 0rdin~noe No. 1566, relating to the construction of cement sidewmlks was read the second and third readings and placed on its final passage. Councilmen voting aye Parks and Devere~ux, nay Polders, Peterson, Mosher, Goodpasture ~nd Quimby. The Ordinance was de- clared lost. Report of the Street Con~mittee recommending that the petition for ornamental street lighting system on Ninth Avenue from Olive to Pearl Streets be granted was on motion ~dopted.
