Oounetl Ohambers, Eugene, Oregon, March 13, 1916. Council met in regular monthly session and was c~lled to order by Mayor Bell. Present Councilmen Parks, Polders, Peterson, Devereaux, Mosher and Goodpasture and Quimby; absent Koppe. Minutes of February ll~th, 28th and March 6th were read and approved. Motion was made, seconded and carried that the sum of $2%.00 paid by Cordelim Ankeny as rent on Butte Park property on January 2, 1915, credited by the Oity Treasurer to the General ~und be transferred to the Park Fund. '~he Street Committee reported favorably on the petition for sidewalk on the south side of Second Avenue from Van Bttren Street to Blair Boulevard, and on motion the report w~s adopted. Repo~t of Berth~ Dorris, Police Mmtron, for January and February read a~E1 placed on file. Report of Dr. Ot~eshire, Health Officer, for the month of January and the month of February was remd and ordered filed.. Report of Vg. H. Alexander, Building ~nspector, for the month of February was read and filed. Request of R. M. D~y for the privilege of putting in a drinking fountain ~t 7th and Willamette Streets was referred to the Fire & Water Committee. .it this time Counoil~n' Koppe appeared in Council. Petition of E~genia E. Hombree for rebate of $20.0~, overpayment on West 6th Street assessment, see L. D. ~2, page 131 and ~. D. #3, page 395, was read and a motion was made and seconded that ~ w~rrant be drawn on the Road & Street Fund in he~ favor for $20.05. The ayes and n~¥s were c~lled; Councilmen voting ~ye 8, n~y none. Motion was declared e~rried and so ordered. Petitions of George M~rks, Florence B. Green and P. A. Lockwood for hotel and lodging house permits were presented, ~nd a motion w~s made, seconded ~nd carried directinj~ the Recorder to issue the permits. A Resolution directing the cancellation of a balance of $6.BW interest on Lot lC, Block B, Kelsay's Second Addition, Olariso S. Deyoe, Ordinance 1070, wins re~d and a motion was made and seconded to adopt the same. The ayes and n~ys were c~lled; Councilmen voting aye 8, nay none. The motion was 'de- clared carried and so ordered. The Street Committee recon~mend that the Council adopt the Eclipse fender on street c~rs, and An Ordinance permitting a certain type of fender to be used on street cars, electric cars or electric railroads operating within the corporate limits
