2 0'3 <br /> <br />NOVE~BER ~5; !916. ~ _ _ <br /> <br /> 'Council Chambers, Eugene, Oregon, November 13, 1916. <br /> <br /> Council met in regular monthly session and was called to order by Mayor <br />Bell. Present Councilmen Polders, Parks, Koppe, Mosher, Devereaux, Quimby <br />and Goodpasture; absent Peterson. <br /> <br /> Minutes of Council proceedings under dates of October 9th, 13th and <br /> <br />23rd were read and approved. <br /> <br /> Reports of the City Health Officer and Building Inspector for the <br /> <br />month of October were read and filed. <br /> <br /> Petition of Blaine Hovey for permission to remove iron lamp post and <br />door' w~y in building at 135 West 8th Avenue was referred ds to the removal of <br />lamp post to the Street Committee, and as to the alteration of the building to <br />the Fire & '~/ater Committee with power to act. <br /> <br /> Petition of the Hendricks Sisters to re-shingle or otherwise repair <br /> <br />the roof of the building on Oak Street between 9th and 10th Avenues, occupied <br /> <br />by Schmidt Bros. was referred to the Fire & Water Committee with power to act. <br /> <br /> Now at this time the petition of Arthur W. Clark for the vacation of <br /> <br />the alley running East and West through Block 13, Sladdens Fourth Addition to <br />Eugene coming on regularly for hea~ing and consideration, said petition .was <br />read and a motion was made, seconded and carried that further consideration <br />thereof'and the hearing of objections, if a,ny, thereto be continued for consid- <br />eration by the Council until November 27th at 7:30 o'clock P. M. <br /> <br /> An 0rdin~nce levying assessment for the c. onstruction of a cement side- <br />walk abutting the property described in Section 2 of this Ordinance, James I. <br />Dirickson owner, was read the second time', and objections called fo~ and none <br />heard, and no objections having been made to said assessment said Ordinance, <br />upon motion duly seconded and carried, was read the third time by unanimous <br />consent under suspension of the rule~and placed upon its final passage. <br />Coun6ilmen voting aye 7, n~y none, assent Peterson. The 0rdinance was de- <br />clared passed and numbered #1882. <br /> <br /> ' A lease ~g~eement submitted by the Southern Pacific' Co. licensing the <br /> City' to use a triangular se~.~ent of property at the intersection of Franklin <br /> Street with Villard Boulevard was on motion referred to the City Attorney and <br /> City Engineer to check and report to the Council. <br /> <br /> The Street Co~,~.ittee reco~aended that the application of Paul Bond to <br /> use a part of Franklin Boulevard in connection with swinuaing pool be not granted, <br /> and ~upon motion the reco~uaendation was adopted. <br /> <br /> <br />
