The City Treast~er recommended that the City cancel the assessments <br /> against the City for ornamental ligjat posts, amounting to $1~6.35 by Ordinances <br /> No. lYl0 and No. 1830, and $$2.23 by Ordinances No. 1813 and No. 1863. <br /> Motion was made and seconded that these liens be cancelled of record. Tile <br /> ayes and nays were called; Councilmen voting aye V, n~y ~none, absent Polders. <br /> ~otion was declared carried arid so ordered. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance establishing the grade on Pearl Street from Second to <br /> <br /> Third Avenues East and establishing the grade on Third Avenue E~st from High <br /> Street to Pearl Street was re~d and passed its second and third re~dings by <br /> title under suspension of the rule and was placed upon its final passage. <br /> Councilmen voting aye V, nay ~one, absent Polders. The Ordinance was de- <br /> clared passed and numbered #1902. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance to improve. Ferry Street from the north side of Eighth <br /> <br />Avenue East north to a line p~rallel with and thirty feet distant from the <br />center line of the main track of the Oregon California Railroad was read and <br />passed its second and third re~adings by title by unanimous consent under sus- <br />pension of the rule and was placed upon its final passage. Councilmen voting <br />aye V, nay none, absent Polders. The 0rdi~ance was declared p~ssed and <br />n~Rbered#1~03. <br /> <br /> The Police Committee wa~s instructed to provide a proper place for the <br />keeping of impounded dogs. , <br /> <br /> Request of G. W. Kinsey~ for permission to make repairs to the Bilyeu dwell- <br />lng house at 7th and Oak Streets was referred .to the ~ire & Wate~ Committee <br />with power to act. <br /> <br /> Councilman Mosher reported that Mr. L. Kendrick had been advanced to the <br />position of driver in the Fire Department on May 1st with the understanding <br />that his salary would be ~dvan,ced to SVO.O0 per month from that date, and <br />moved that his warrant on the regular pay roll be drawn for SVO.O0 per month, <br />commencing with the month of M~M. Motion was seconded and the ayes and nays <br /> <br />were called; Councilmen voting aye V, nay none, absent Polders. Motion was <br />declared carried and so ordered. <br /> On motion the Council adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
