243 <br /> <br /> Council Ct~mbex, s, kk~gene, Oregon, June 11, 1917. <br /> <br /> Council met in regular monthly session, and was called to order by <br />Eayor ?eterson. Present Councilmen Parks, Koppe, Devereaux, Goodpasture and <br />Spangler; absent Polders, .Spencer and ~{osher~ <br /> <br /> Ninutes of Council proceedings undel- dates of Nay l~th and 28th <br /> <br />were read and approved. <br /> <br /> The Health Conu~ttee recommended that the petition for the "Daylight <br />Saving Plan'' be denied. Recor~endation was on motion adopted. <br /> <br /> The Street Co~.~ittee reco~.,.ended that the application of Dean Sanderson <br />to ~cadamize Potter Street be rejected. On motion the reco~endation was <br />adopted. <br /> <br /> The Street Comnittee also reeo~u~ended tha't the petition for the drainage <br /> <br /> R~eco~endation was on motion <br /> <br />system at 15th and Beech Streets be rejected. <br />adopted. <br /> <br /> The Pinanee Comaittee recommended that the sum of $70W2.5k be paid over <br />to the Wate~ Board in settlement of balances due on cost of installation of <br />ornamental street lights, shown in the statement of City Treasumer Stlckels to <br />the Council, and a motion was made and seconded that the recom~aendation be <br />adopted, and a w~rrant be drawn to the Eugene Water Board on the Improvement <br />Bond Sinking Fund for said amount. The ayes and nays were called; Councilmen <br />voting aye 5, nay none; absent Polders, Spencer and Nosher. Notion was de- <br />clared carried and so ordered. <br /> <br /> I~atter of agreement with the Southern Pacific Co. for the repairing <br /> <br />and price to be paid for the work in patching pavement along street railway was <br />referred to the Street Committee with power to act.. <br /> <br /> Report of the Building InspSctor for'the month of ~ay was read and <br />ordered placed on ~ile. <br /> <br /> Petition for street light at Jefferson Street near the Amazon Slough <br />having been referred back from the '#ater Board to the City was referred to the <br />Fire & Water Committee. <br /> <br /> Request of Robbins & Long to install a gasoline pump on edge of side-' <br />walk at 257 - 8th Ave. West an~! request Of Vick Bros. to bury 280 gallon gasoline <br />tank in front of garage at 6W - 10th Ave. East were referred to the ?ire & <br />Water Comaittee with power to act. <br /> <br /> The City Attorney was directed to formulate an Ordinance rel~lating the <br /> <br />storage of gas and construction of gasoline containers. <br /> <br /> <br />
