The Finance Committee recommended the acceptance of the bond of ~h, ed G. Stickels, Treastu, er, by the National Surety Co. Motion was made, seconded and carried to adopt the recommendation. Petitions for street lights at the intersection of Twentiett~ Avenue and Lincoln Street, and at the intersection of West Fourth Avenue and Monroe Street were referred to the ~ire & Water Committee. Petition to the 0ity of Eugene to insert in contracts minimum w~ge scale of $2.25 per eight hour a day was referred to the Ju£~eiary Committee and Oity Attorney. Petition for the paving of Alder Street from 13th Street South to City Limits, and a petition for the paving of Alder Street from Ninth Street to Millrace were read and referred to the Street Committee. Petition requesting the Council not to pave Ferry Street from Ninth Avenue to S. P. R. R. during 1915 was placed on file. 'Report of Frank Reisner as 0ity Treasurer up to April 12, 1915, was referred to the ~inance Oommittee. In the matter of the opening ~nd extension of Tenth Avenue from Van B~u'en Street West ll~ feet, due notice having been given of the con- sideration of viewers' report thereon at this time, objections to said viewers' repo~t were cmlled for and none offered excepting the written objection of J. I. Dirlckson thereto which was read and referred together with the viewers' report to the Street Committee ~nd Oity Attorney, and a motion was made, seconded and carried that the consideration of said repo~t and objections thereto be continued until May 10, 1915, at 7:30 o'clock P. M.
