Council Ohambers, ~lgene, Oregon, June 1L~, 1915. <br /> <br /> Oouneil met in re~,allar monthly session, mhd was called to order by <br /> <br />~ayor Bell. Present Councilmen Parks, Polders~ Peter.~on, Devereaux, <br /> <br />}~osher, Goodpasture and Quimby. <br /> <br /> The minutes of Council proceedings under dates of ~,~ay 10th, llth, 2kth <br />and JUne 7th were read and approved. <br /> <br /> The l~yor announced that the election of a co~u~eilm~n to fill the vacancy <br />caused by the resignation of Councilman Bo&~e was in order, ~nd Co~u~eilman <br />Peterson no~.inated H. ~. Hollenbeck as Oouneilm~n from the Second Ward. <br /> <br />No other nominations were m~de. Councilman Devereaux stated that without <br />opposing the election of 1ir. ttollenbeck he would move that the election of <br />a Uouncilman be deferred for one week in order to dispose o£ the Agate <br />Avenue question by a ~ouncil familiar with the situation, t~otion was <br />seconded, and the ayes and nays were called; Councilmen voti~g aye Parks, <br />Devereaux, Nosher and Quimby, nay Polders, Peterson and Goodpast~n'e. <br />Notion was declared car,-ted and the election of ~ Oo~u~cilman ordered con- <br />tinued for one week. <br /> <br /> Petition for a lateral sewer in the alley between ~th & 10th Avenues <br />from a point opposite Lot B, Block l, Wmllis-Dorris Addition West to Polk <br />Street was recommended favorably by the Sewe~ Co~m~ittee. Recommend_ation <br />was on motion ~dopted. <br /> <br /> The I~ire & Water Co~nittee repo~'ted ~dversely on the petition for <br /> <br />street li~mts ~t three points on Blair Boulevard, and on the request of <br /> <br />'Hr. Bennett to make repairs on ~ wooden building on Eighth Avenue West in the <br />fire limits, and on the request for an amendment to the fire limits, in <br />the latter case suggesting that the fire limits should be generally revised <br />by Ordinance. On motion the report of the I~'ire & Water Co~m~.ittee was <br />adopted. <br /> <br /> The Street Com~tlttee reported that they were not able to substantiate <br /> l(r. Kinc~id's claim in regard to Oh~rnelton Street sidewalk improvement, <br /> and were unable to reoom_~end ar~y other action than that the ~ity proceed <br /> with the installation of the improvement. <br /> <br /> Said Com~.~ittee also reported favorable upon the petition to improve <br /> <br /> the mlley between llth and 12th Avenues from Cha~'nelton Street to Lincoln <br /> Street by grading ~nd g~velling, and also reco~m.~ended that objections be <br /> <br /> <br />
