J_UbY _29,___1915. <br /> <br /> Council Chambers, Eugene, Oregon, July 29, 1915. <br /> <br /> Council met pursuant to adJour~u~ent of July 26th, and was called to <br />order by 14ayor Bell. Present Councilmen Parks, Polders, Koppe, Devereaux, <br />Mosher, Goodpasture and Quimby, abse~%t Peterson. <br /> <br /> I~ayor Bell announced 'the appointment of Council:Ran E. Koppe to fill all <br />Co~mittee appointments formerly held by Couneilm~n Bo&a:e. 0n motion the <br />appointment was confirmed by the Council. <br /> <br /> The Street Com~,~ittee reco.~m.~ended the granting of the petition of the <br />Oregon Electric Railway Co. t.o construct a spu~' on East 5'ifth Avenue to the <br />proposed Allen & Lewis warehouse. Reco~aendation was on motion adopted. <br /> <br /> The Street Conu~ittee also filed written report reco~.~ending that the <br />claim of }~argaret I. Bilyeu for r~bate on South Willamette Street paving had <br />been investigated and that the Engineer be instructed to measure up and determine <br />the amount of the cost of pavement opposite her premises. The report was on <br />motion adopted. <br /> <br /> ~e Street Co~m~ittee reeonunended that permit be &rranted to P. b. Chambers <br /> <br />to erect a waiting station on l{ilyard Street as petitioned for, Report was <br />on ~.~otion adopted. <br /> The following report .of the Street Committee was read: <br /> <br />"'PO 'M{E C0lO, ON COUNCIL 0P T]{E CITY 0F EUGENE: <br /> <br /> We, the Street Co~nit%ee, to wtzom was referred the bids and the ptu-- <br />ported remonstrance on the im2provement of Alder Street, beg leave to report <br />as follows: <br /> <br /> We have considered ~d investigated the same and find and determine that <br />it is necessary to improve Alder Street as described in the 0rdinanee, and <br />we reeo~aend the rejection of the said remonstrance, the reconsideration of the <br />0rdinanoe, its adoption and approval and the letting of the contract to the <br /> <br />Ol~rk-Henery Construction Company, in accordance with their bid. <br /> B. F. Goodpasture <br /> E. Eoppe <br /> <br /> Street Conu~ittee. " <br />Motion was m~de, seconded and carried that the report be ~dopted. <br /> <br /> Councilman Goodpasture moved that in view of the remonstrances filed <br />again:~t the improvement of Alder Street from Thirteenth Avenue to the City <br /> <br /> <br />
