<br /> Section 1. That %he Corm Counoll uf the City of ~gene la hereby
<br />authorize4, and empowered tolssue: and sell negotiable bonds of the City to the
<br />amount of ~enty-flve Thousand ($25,~00) Dollars or so much Dhe~.~f as may be
<br />necessary for: tho purpose of purchasing new fl~e apparatus for the City.

<br /> Seotlo~ ~, The bonds hereby autho~lz~ shall be denominated
<br />Apparatus-Bonds." They shall Be a general obligation of the City of B~gene,
<br />and shall be .ln such fo~ and of such denominations as will, In the judgment
<br />of She Common Col.,nell, be most [lkely to conduce to theiP salability. Th~y
<br />shall be m~e du'e andp~able In 20 years from the date' of their IsSuance, and
<br />bear lntorest-at the rate of not to exceed 5 per c~nt per ~w~, payable semi-
<br />annually. .
<br /> Section 3. The Co~on C?un~ll of the City of ~g~e is.hereby authorlze~
<br />to l~olude In its general municipal 'tax levy each year sufficient special levy
<br />top~ the interest on the bonds and provide a sinking fund for the payment of
<br />them when due, ''

<br />and sell the said bonds, From time to t~e, as they m~ be needed for the
<br />purpose herein specified, bu~ bofor~'a~y of 'thrum shall bo sold, they shall be
<br />advertised for sale, by publication of a w:tlc~ asking for bids therefor to
<br />be published in the two dally p~peFs now putllsh~d In ~gene, Oregon, In at
<br />lea~5 o~e lssue of such daily p~pers, .tw~ weeks prier to the time of the sale;
<br />and theymay also give notice of the s~le of said bonds in such ethos papers
<br />as they deem to be bess for the interest of the city ~a ef~ectlng a sale; but,
<br />If ao satisfactory bids for the purchase of the bonds be received, they m~ sell
<br />them at private sale at 8ct le3~ than at par and accrued interest.

<br /> Section 7, That the Act entitled, "~ Act to amend the Charter of the
<br />City-of ~ge~e~ Oregen~ by-~ding a new chapter theret~ auth~selzlng and em~ -
<br />powering the Common Council ef the City to issue and sel~ negotiable ~nds of
<br />the City to the ~ou~t of Twenty-five Thousand ($2S,000) Dollars, or so much
<br />thereof as may b~ neees:~ary fca the purpose of purchasing new fire apparatus
<br />fop the City, and to repeal 8ectlon,~, oS Chapter 7, of the Charter of the
<br />City to Three Thousand ($3,000) Dol[ars," ena'~t~ by the electors of said
<br />City at ~ election held July 2, 1~24, ls hereby repealS,

<br /> Section 6. Th4 lndebtednes,~ authorized by this amendment to the Charter
<br />of the City of Digene is in addition to all'" other Indebtedness authorized and in-
<br />curred by the City of Eugene, and shall' not be considered as affected by any
<br />limitation of indebtedness in.the Charterer the City or elsewhere.
