Council Chambers, Eugene, Oregon. September 13th, 1926. Minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the Covmon Com~oil held September 13'th, lg26, there being present Mayor E.U. Lee and all members o£ the Council, ex- cept Washburne, who was absent. Meeting called to order by the Mayor. Minutes of the meetings of Aug. 9th, A~%g. llth, Aug. 23rd, Aug. 25th, and Sept. 7th, 1926, -read and approved.' N.R.Gaylord appeared before the Council and objected to the p~yment of $21.00 es a balance still assessed against his We.~t loth Street property claiming that amount was unpaid by him on account of an old curb replaced at the time of the pav- ing of West 10th Street. Such matter was 'referred to the Judiciary Committee and th~ City Engineer. Geo. Gansle also appeared as to his assessment at the corner of Moss Street and Falrmount Blwl. No action was taken. A petition was received to pave 24th Avenue from Onyx to Agate Streets, and W.P. Reed spoke on the matter. As part of 24th Avenue is not opened at this time no action could be taken on the petition, but it was referr_ed to the Street Com- mittee. A petition was received for a street light at the corner of 18th Avenue and Emerald Street. Said petition Wa~referred to the Fire and Water Committee. Andrew Holton filed a petition to repair a building at 1123 Willamette Street by making a few minor changes. Such matter was '~eferred to the 2ire and Water Co~aittee.: I~,recomme_~ded such petition be granted, and,.on motion, such reeom- . mendatlon was approved. A petition was received for a sewer between 24th Avenue and the City Limits from Agate Street to alley east of Columbia Str. eet. Such petition was referred · to the Sewer Conmnittee to report. On recommendation, of the Sewer Co.~m~lttee, said petit ion w~s granted. The matter of opening Potter Street south.from 23rd Avenue was brought 6P and discussed. The City Engineer was directed to bring l~ Plans an4 report for such ~treet opemlng, C.C. McKee asked permlsslo~ to install a s. andwich wagon on East 9th Street and within the l~lre Limits. After discussion such request was denied. - ProPosed amendment~ to the eLectr.lcal code ef the city was offered and referred to the InsPector of Buildings for .report. A letter was received and read from ~;.L. King as to the proposed tres~le over the Amazon where the Street Railway track crosses 'the stream in the Southwest part of town. No action was taken. · The Inspector of Buildings reported sewers should, b.e ~nstalled In the City as f~llows: 1. Lateral connecting to Lawrence at Cheshire thence east to alL~y a~d north in alley one block. , .2. ExtEnd l~teral between Lawrence Street ,and Washington Str.eet one block north from Cheshi~.~ ~.
