The following resolution was offered, and unanimously adopted: <br /> <br />~ESO LUTION. <br /> <br /> Whereas heetofore. the City of Eugene assessed Lo. ts 7 and 8, and 9, of B. lo, ok <br />32 and Lot 27 x of Block 34, of B1qok 27x together with that portion of Mill Street <br />abutting the above property now vacated in ~alrmount in the Cltyof Eugene,,Lane <br />County, Oregon, for the paving of ~ranklin Blvd. where it passed said property <br />in the sum of $2021.87. <br /> <br /> And whereas the taxes on said property due tothe State of Oregon subsequently <br />became delinquent and were not paid and the said property was foreclosed upon <br />and sold to Lane County,.Oregon for taxes and the City of eugene falled to make any <br />redemption thereof within sixty days thereafter, thus extinguishing thelr city <br />.lien. <br /> <br /> And whereas the pr. esent owners of said property desires that the cloud of said <br />lien be removed from said property and have offered as a compromise settlement of <br />mortgage said property to the City of Eugene, in the sum of $1000.00 to be paid <br />$200.00 e.nnually for flve years and have made and exeucted such mortgage to the <br />city. ~, <br /> <br /> A~d whereas .the. paving paJ~sin~ said property and abutting theeeon is in fact <br />a general highway letting from the city and is so oonstr.uc.ted, and isnot curbed, <br />nor constructed as a stateh!ghway and the sene re,ts upon a county road and general <br />highway a the very outlet of the city limits of the City, <br /> <br />NOW THE?F~ORE BE IT R~OLVED BY THE CITY OF EU]ENE OR~}ON. <br /> <br />through the Common Coun~ll: <br /> <br /> That the mortgage of $1000,00 payable in five $200.00 annual payments, be <br />accepted, and the Recorder be and he is hereby directed to cause the same to be <br />recorded and to tur~ over the notes and mortgage to the Treasurer of the City, <br />and the said Treasurer is hereby directed upo~ receipt ofsaid recorded mortgage <br />and the notes accompanying the same to discharge ~he lien of the assessment from <br />the Recordsof the City as having been p~id and settled. <br /> <br /> On motion, the contract entered into with Oscar Snow to construct a sewer <br />between Washington and Jefferson Streets from Cheshire Avenue North, was cancell- <br />ed with the consent of Snow and the bond role ased and ordered returned to such <br />con bra~tor. <br /> <br /> On motion a permit was granted to ?lorn Snyder to conduct a rooming house at <br />the corner of 6th and Oak Street. <br /> <br /> A deed from Susan A Prior and cae of James ChaPelle was presented to the City <br />for a right of way for a storm sewer across their property,in Block 23, of ~air- <br />mount. On motion such deeds were accepted. <br /> <br /> A deed for hlghway purposes was presented to the city by Vada B Lyons for a <br />tract of ground in Strip ~A" of Elias Stewart~s Addition. Said matter was re- <br />ferred to the Street Committee. <br /> <br /> The Water Board reported there are several radios over town with wires <br />across alley or sidewalk lines or crossing power lines. The Chief of Police <br />was directed to abate .~ueh nuisances. <br /> <br /> A Petition was received from C.L. Teschner for a sewer in the alley between <br />18th a~d 19th Avenues from Oak Street to Pearl Street. Said matter was referred <br />to the Sewer Comnittee. <br /> <br /> A petition was received from the Twin Oaks D~mber Co. and C.O.Peterson to pave <br />the allry running east and west thru block 18, of Original Townslte from High St. <br />east to ~ailroad sidetrack. Said matter was _referred to the Street Committee and <br />it recommended such petition be grented. ' On motion, such yeport was adopted. <br /> <br /> The ~hglneer filed his report on the proposed opening of Alder Street from <br />9th Avenue to the Mlll race. The same was deferred till the next meeting of the <br />coun o il · <br /> <br /> The [hgineer filed his report to open 18th Avenue from Willamette to the <br />West line of Driverton ,Aiditlcm, and onmotion, the same was accepted and adop. ted <br />by Ordinance he, rein given. <br /> <br /> <br />
