Such matter was referred to the City ~hgineer. <br /> <br /> The Judiciary Committee reported unfavorably on the petition of Webster L. <br />Klncald to have cancelled the assessment for a sidewalk destroyed in theopening <br />of l~th Avenue. On motion the report of such Committee was adopted. <br /> <br /> The City Attorney reported H.J. Manley is dissatisfied with being assessed <br />in Connection wl~h the Rallroad Avenue Improvement, claiming in hls dealings with <br />the city. in opening Vah Buren Street fr.~m Jrd Avenue to Blair Blvd. his house was <br />to be moved te L~t 2, BlOck Il, Sladden~s Srd Addition to the City '#ithout liens <br />being, pi'aced against his property in its new location. No action was taken. <br /> <br /> The City .Attorney reported that Chas. Dick wishes the city to sell te him a <br />portion oflts property near Railroad Avenue and Grand Street adjoining his <br />property so he may face on Railroaz[ Avenue. Such matter was referred to the <br />Street Committee for report, <br /> <br /> The Chief ef Police reported he had examined the Abe Bangs barn and found <br />it sanitary and aisc .~ald Dr. Kerron of the Health Department and Dr. Helterline <br />City ~llk Inspector,~ad approved the condition of such barn. <br /> <br /> - Harry Sink appeared and asked 'the'counCil for its good will in his undertak- <br />ing in getting out a new city directory he fs compiling. He was told there was <br />no opposition to his undertaking. . <br /> <br /> Councilman Ruth brought uP the matter of paving 14th Avenue East and the <br />matter was discussed but no 'action taken. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance levying aSsessments for paving Van Buren Street fram Railroad <br />Avenue t~Blalr Blvd,, was read the firs.t tme and laid over. <br /> Fl~.sldewalk?~ improvement ordinances were r~ad the first time and passed <br />their second and third readings by ~itle by unanimous consent under susp.en,sion <br />of the rule and were placed on thel[r~_lnal ~a~sage. The ames and nays were called, <br />all.present voting aye. Nam none' Tt~e Ordinances were declared passed' and number- <br />ed 5267 to 5271, both'numbers inclusive. <br /> <br /> Three sidewalk assessment ordinances were read the first t~me and passed <br />their second and third read~ngs by title by unanimous consent under suspenslen of <br />the rule, amd at the request of the owner of property without notice, and were <br />placed on their~ final passage. The ayes and nays were called, all present voting <br />aye. Nay none. The Ordinances were declared-'passed and numbered from 5272 to 5274, <br />both numberm inclusive.
