Health Insurance Benefits After Termination for Gross Misconduct <br />If terminated for gross misconduct, under Federal law, employees and their covered <br />dependents are not eligible for continuation of their health insurance coverage under <br />COBRA. <br />The City will look at the specific circumstances surrounding each disciplinary <br />termination in order to determine whether the termination was for gross misconduct. <br />Gross misconduct means conduct that reflects a willful disregard of the City's interests <br />or of the employee's duties and obligations to the City.
