Effect of Leave of Absence on PERS /OPSRP Contributions <br />Employees remain members in PERSIOPSRP while on official leave of absence from <br />employment. No contributions are made to PERS /OPSRP during a leave of absence <br />without pay since no salary is paid. PERS /OPSRP does not grant service credit for <br />leaves of absence without pay. <br />Retirement Benefits <br />In order to receive PERS /OPSRP retirement benefits, employees must file a formal <br />application for benefits with PERSIOPSRP before they can receive any payments. <br />Work Restrictions after Retirement <br />Retired employees returning to work for the City of Eugen ny other employer <br />participating in PERSIOPSRP are limited to working 1,040 I 'I in a calendar year. <br />There is no limit on the earnings. <br />PERS Sick Leave Fold -in �� <br />Sick leave fold -in is available to regular non - represented ernplo ees. Employees who <br />are eligible for PERS Tier One or Tier Two benefit are eehgib_ A itthesick leave fold -in <br />benefit. When eligible employees terminate employ et,with the{ity, their unused sick <br />leave accruals will be reported to PERS - n-subject to the cap mentioned below. <br />Sick Leave Cap The accrual gap f r sickieave fold -in purposes is 960 for non <br />represented employees.
