Policy Title: Military Leave <br />Purpose: To outline the rights and responsibilities of employees on military leave. <br />Scope: Applies to all City employees who are members " iq' Oregon National Guard <br />Unit e <br />or any reserve component of the armed forces of the S <br />Policy Statement: State and Federal laws <br />rights to employees who take time off from <br />Policy Procedure: <br />Annual Training Leave ,� <br />Employees who have worked for City o6 months are entitled to a military leave of <br />absence with pay not to exceeds calendar, days in any one training year for annual <br />kZ <br />active duty for training as a membe - the National Guard, National Guard Reserve or <br />any reserve component of the U.S. A "" Forces, or of the U.S. Public Health Service. <br />A training year means the Federal fiscal Ootober 1 through September 30. Such <br />leaves are granted without loss of other lea , 110 without impairment of other rights or <br />benefits, providiri 'i employee receives b a fide orders to training duty for a <br />temporary period mg they return to their position immediately upon expiration <br />of the period of ord�edl� I i����������������� <br />Extended Military Leave <br />Leave shall be approv8ld to a maximum period of 5 years, unless extension is required <br />in accordance with OR .290 and the Uniformed Services Employment and Re- <br />employment Rights Act o 1994 (USERRA). While on military leave the City will not <br />provide salary or benefits. <br />Notification Requirements <br />Employees called to active duty must provide their direct supervisor with advance notice <br />of the need for military leave either orally or in writing and should provide a copy of <br />orders or other documentation as soon as available and, if possible, before the <br />commencement of military duty.
