Policy Title: Emergency Facility Closure <br />Purpose: To provide for the safety of employees when r iring the closing of a City <br />facility in the event of an emergency <br />Scope: Applies to all City employees. <br />Policy Statement: In an emergency situatioll "'bttempt Will be rflobb"to maintain <br />City services at a normal level. If the situation is seraous ne ougli #hat operation of these <br />'4— <br />services must be modified to respond to the crisis, employeesw If lobe informed as <br />quickly as possible by telephone andlorthe news med a'li- <br />Policy Procedure: <br />Facility Closure <br />Only the City Manager or Acting City'I+YI+YI '�ger has the authority to close down a facility <br />during regular business hours {defined 5 p.m., Monday through Friday }. The <br />only exception would be if continued opera Ilo the facility poses an immediate health <br />or safety risk to tM cility's occupants. In t t case, the facility should be evacuated <br />and the City Man, iIan, icting City Manager should be notified immediately. <br />Outside of regular btl ine 0 " 10', before 8 a.m. or after 5 p.m., Monday through <br />Friday or on weeken tan exec _ e manager or division manager or AIC may close a <br />facility at their discretia That information should be relayed to the communications <br />supervisor in the 911 Center (541- 682 - 2791), the news media, and all appropriate staff. <br />Coding Hours for Timerthe Facility is Closed <br />If a facility is shut down during normal business hours (i.e., after employees have <br />already arrived at work), employees should code all hours for the day to regular time <br />including those hours that would have been worked if the facility had stayed open until <br />the end of their regular shift. <br />Coding Time When an Employee Has Chosen Not to Come to Work or has Asked <br />to Leave before the End of Their Shift <br />City employees who, in theirjudgment, are unable to safely come to work due to <br />hazardous weather conditions may be granted time off and must code hours not worked <br />to vacation, comp time, holiday accruals, or LWOP.
