<br /> <br />Task 2.3 Participatory Research Program <br /> Purpose To create ongoing capacity for inclusive participation. Bring Latino <br />community views and perspectives into a participatory regional <br />civic engagement process by recruiting a core group of Latino <br />leaders to participate in regional planning efforts, providing <br />recommendations for Consortium members to increase interaction <br />with members of the Latino community, and identify social and <br />economic indicators important to the Latino community. <br /> Goal(s) Equitable public engagement strategies and outcomes. <br /> <br /> <br /> Activities Engage the Latino community through workshops, informal focus <br />groups, in-depth interviews, and other participatory techniques. <br /> Public Info/Invo Engage key stakeholders in evaluation process (e.g. El Centro <br />LatinoAmericano), review and discussion of findings, draft <br />recommendations for improvements. <br /> Products Recommendations for increasing interactions between <br /> <br /> <br />officials/staff and the Latino community <br />Recommendations for social and economic indicators <br /> <br /> <br />important to Latino community <br />Recommendations for how the work with the Latino <br /> <br /> <br />community can be applicable to other communities <br /> Lead Agency/Staff UO Sustainable Cities Initiative <br /> Other Participants Consortium members and identified partners/stakeholders (social <br />services, human rights, equity, and public involvement focus) <br /> Timing Months 6-12 <br />Task 3.0 Sustainability Assessment: Regional Plans <br />Task 3.1 Framework <br /> Purpose To develop an assessment framework, evaluating strategies, and <br />processes for describing and assessing sustainability of regional <br />plans and planning activities. <br /> Goal(s) Creation of additional shared elements in regional <br /> <br /> <br />transportation, housing, water, and air quality, and economic <br />development plans tied to local comprehensive land use and <br />capital investment plans (HUD Long-term Outcome). <br />Improved integration of sustainability components within <br /> <br /> <br />planning policies and processes. <br /> Activities Consortium meeting(s), research, draft framework for review and <br />comment, final framework documentation. <br /> Public Info/Invo Seek input from key stakeholder groups (climate change, public <br />health, sustainability, energy, equity, economic development, <br />other) <br /> Products Regional Planning Assessment Framework (draft and final) <br /> <br /> <br /> Lead Agency/Staff UO CPW <br /> Other Participants Consortium members, with focus on City and County partners, <br />Lane Livability Consortium 10 <br />
