The 3rd/4th Connector is a public street segment that runs from the intersection of Lincoln Street and West 3rd Avenue to the intersection of East 4th Avenue and Pearl Street. The street is located north of the railroad tracks and south of Skinner Butte Park, see attached map. Change the existing street name from 3rd/4th Connector (a.k.a. 3rd/4th Avenue) to Shelton Boulevard. City of Eugene: Planning and Development Department. Kent Kullby AICP, Planning Division, (541) 682-5453 Purpose of Staff Report The Eugene Code requires City staffto investigate the facts bearing on a proposed Street Name Change and to prepare a staff report to the Planning Commission. The staff report must be printed and available prior to the public hearing to allow the Planning Commission, affected and interested parties and citizens an opportunity to learn more about the request and to review the staff analysis of the proposed street name change. The staff report gives preliminary information, based on evidence submitted prior to completion of the report, which may be supplemented by testimony and other materials presented at the public hearing. Request At their work session meeting of December 12,2005, the City Council directed staff to initiate the proceedings for a street name change application to re-name the 3rd/4th Connector (a.k.a. 3rd/4th Avenue) to Shelton Boulevard. The request was initiated by the City Council based upon a request by the Shelton-McMurphey-Johnson House Board members. The Shelton-McMurphey-Johnson House is located on the flanks of Skinner Butte Park north of the 3rd/4th Connector. Back2round The initiation of the street name change request was based upon a recommendation from the Shelton- McMurphey-Johnson House Board members, see attached letter dated December 5, 2005.
